The Montana Rivers, Parks and Breweries Adventure
August 8 - 17, 2009

Come to Big Sky Country for an adventurous, activity-packed exploration of Western Montana and its many fine breweries. Begin in Kalispell, where we'll meet and immediately head out to Flathead Lake for tastings at two breweries followed by a brew pub dinner in a spectacular setting. Next, we spend 3 nights in around beautiful Glacier NP. We'll meet with a naturalist for a guided hike, have an entire free day to hike and photograph wildlife, as well as raft the Middle Fork of the Flathead River - wetting our whistles on tasty local beers along the way. And that is just the first 4 days. Stays at impressive Holland Lake Lodge, Helena, and our home town Missoula offer great access to spectacular Montana scenery and cool excursons, as well as a host of breweries. The 9 -night trip includes breakfast everyday, a hike with a Park naturalist, 2 days of rafting, many fine beer meals, brewery visits, 2 international beer tastings, "beer touring" by private coach, historic western cities, and fine hotels -- with optional opportunities to fish, hike, mountain bike and check out a Montana cityscape or two.

Daily Itinerary:

Saturday, August 8 - The trip begins today at 3:00 PM in the lobby of the Kalispell hotel. After a welcome beer, we'll board the bus for a trip out to Flathead Lake Brewery and Tamarack Brewing Co. for visits and tasting. We'll have a welcome dinner back in Kalispell this evening - perhaps to be followed by a bar visit or two.

Sunday, August 9 - We travel via coach this morning, to the northeast corner of spectacular Glacier National Park and our historic home for two nights, the Many Glacier Lodge - the ideal spot for hikes, wildlife viewing and photography. Along the way we'll stop for lunch and a local beer or two. Upon arrival we'll check-in to our rooms and later meet a naturalist guide for an interpretive hike and a chance to learn about the park's rich history and diverse flora and fauna. Bears, moose and bighorn sheep are regularly seen in this part of the park. Our guide will also be an excellent resource for activities during our stay. The evening is free.

Monday, August 10 - Today is totally free with many options of varying length and cost to choose from - including fishing, hiking, park tours and more. Small hiking groups will likely form.
