A European Beer Oddyssey
Prague, Bamberg, Cologne & Brussels

October 8 - 18, 2015

A Beer Lovers Dream Trip to Benefit Pints for Prostates

Join Rick Lyke on a BeerTrip for a cause as we travel across the heart of central and western Europe and right through the core of one of the world's great beer regions! From impressive Prague, through medieval Bamberg, to festive Cologne and on to beery Brussels, we will explore breweries, pubs, beer gardens tasting rooms, beer cellars, and restaurants that serve a seemingly endless variety of beer.

Prague with its centuries-old brewpubs and cafes, well-preserved architecture, eclectic neighborhoods, and bustling public squares is one of Europe's coolest cities; and with 3 nights you will have time to admire its many charms and take in the growing Czech beer scene.

Medieval Bamberg, home to no less than nine traditional breweries and infamous smoke-beer, welcomes us for the next two nights. The whole city is a UNESCO World Heritage site having preserved examples or architecture from the 15th, 16th, 17th, 18th, and 19th centuries. With a variety of great brewery taps serving fresh local beer from the wood, it is a very pleasant place to spend a couple of days.

We will travel by rail and along the Rhine en route to Cologne - a very festive place indeed! Have lunch and beer with the locals at a beer garden along the Rhine. We'll take a locally guided Kolsch tour to learn the ins and outs of this quirky and fun beer culture, and enjoy dinner in a traditional Rhineland Brauhaus. Time remains the next day to consider an Alt quest to Dusseldorf, Cologne boast many attractions as well, including the impressive and imposing Cathedral.

Perhaps the best comes last as we head into Belgium a land of hundreds of beer styles! We will ride in style on our beer bus, visit 2 breweries, and enjoy lunch en route. While in Brussels we will visit the city's 2 best breweries, engage in a world class beer tasting, and indulge in Brussels style home-cooking: Cusine a La Biere!

Pretty much the BeerTrip of a lifetime! You should come along!

About Pints for Prostates
Pints for Prostates, is a 501(c)3 a campaign that uses the universal language of beer to encourage men to take charge of their health, was founded by prostate cancer survivor and beer writer Rick Lyke in 2008. The grassroots effort raises awareness among men of the importance of regular health screenings and PSA testing by making appearances at beer festivals, social networking and pro bono advertising. According to the National Cancer Institute, approximately 218,000 new prostate cancer cases will be diagnosed in the U.S. this year, which is 25,000 more than the number of expected new cases of breast cancer. Sadly, more than 32,000 American men will die from the disease this year. More information is available at www.pintsforprostates.org. Travel Details and Air Options:

Air Travel to Prague (PRG) and from Brussles (BRU)

This trip has been priced without airfare to enable travelers to use mileage awards, travel outside group dates, or visit other European cities while abroad. Please contact us to inquire about fares from your city.

From the Airport to the hotel:

There are several inexpensive and slightly more expensive options for travel from and to the Prague and Brussels Airports. Official taxis, bus and rail are available. If desired we can arrange to have you met and transferred from the airport.

How we get around:

For all included excursions and visits, transportation will be included as well. Within the cities, we will rely on walking and public transportation. Travel between Prague and Brussels will be done in our private motor coach and/or by High-Speed Rail.

Please Note:

The overall style of the trip is best suited for somewhat adventurous, beer-loving travelers who want the camaraderie and structure of a tour, as well as the opportunity to explore independently. Planned events and excursions will, for the most part, be informal. Guided touring is generally the exception, though travelers can always rely on the support and assistance of the trip leader.

* Please note also:

This itinerary is subject to change based on brewery or hotel availability, force majeur, acts of dieties, common sense or bad weather, etc. Smaller breweries are often unable to commit to hosting groups until a couple of weeks before we arrive. Substitutions, when necessary, will be as good or better than what we replaced. And, don't worry, the beer is always good!
